My passion for midwifery began with the birth of our third baby born at home into the hands of a midwife. My educational background includes a Bachelors of Midwifery Degree from UBC in 2005 and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Anthropology from SFU in 2001.
I was drawn to midwifery through my passion for women's health and respect for pregnancy and birth as natural yet profound experiences in the lives of women and their families. My education includes an Honors Degree in Physiology from McGill University and a Midwifery degree from McMaster University.
I was born and raised in Ontario, but had long awaited the opportunity to move to British Columbia. In the year 2000 I attend the University of Waterloo where I graduated with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Sexuality, Marriage and the Family. It is now with great honour that I join with my fellow midwives at Abbotsford Midwifery Group, in your journey through this magical and challenging transformation called Motherhood.
My passion for midwifery began with the birth of our third baby born at home into the hands of a midwife. Abbotsford has been my home community since 1987 when my husband Sean and I moved here from Alberta with our 3 young children.
My educational background includes a Bachelors of Midwifery Degree from UBC in 2005 and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Anthropology from SFU in 2001. I am a Core team member of the More OB program at ARH and on the Breastfeeding Committee at CGH. I served as a La Leche Leader for many years in Alberta.
I am passionate about childbirth and believe that this unique event in the life of a woman and her family is one that deserves to be respected and honoured. I believe pregnancy and childbirth is a healthy normal physiological process and I look forward to meeting with you to provide care within a philosophical framework of informed choice. It gives me enormous pleasure to witness the miracle of birth time and time again. I really have the best job I could ever have imagined!
When I'm not catching babies I enjoy spending time on the Sunshine Coast, hiking, kayaking, relaxing and hanging out with my amazing ever growing family!

I was drawn to midwifery through my passion for women's health and respect for pregnancy and birth as natural yet profound experiences in the lives of women and their families.
My education includes an Honors Degree in Physiology from McGill University and a Midwifery degree from McMaster University. Throughout my education and experiences I have developed a commitment to an integrative, women-centered philosophy of care informed by both evidence based research and a holistic approach to midwifery practice.
I have had the opportunity to live in a number of communities in Saskatchewan, Alberta, the Yukon and Quebec and have completed clinical placements in Southern Ontario and Tanzania.
I look forward to making this beautiful community my new home and to working with you to make your experience of pregnancy, childbirth and the beginnings of your new family a positive one!
I was born and raised in Ontario, but had long awaited the opportunity to move to British Columbia. In the year 2000 I attend the University of Waterloo where I graduated with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Sexuality, Marriage and the Family.
After graduating I became trained as a Doula and quickly gained experience by volunteering on a labour and delivery floor at my local Hospital. It was during this time as a Doula that I realized that I wanted and needed to do more.
In 2005 I traveled to Romania and volunteered at a Failure to Thrive Clinic. Here I provided care and love to a dozen plus infants who were abandoned and malnourished. This experience opened my eyes even wider, reminding me that caring hearts and patience can make a world of difference.
Shortly after I returned from Romania I started the Midwifery Education Program at Ryerson University in Toronto. It is now with great honour that I join with my fellow midwives at Abbotsford Midwifery Group, in your journey through this magical and challenging transformation called Motherhood.
I look forward to being a part of your childbirth experience.
